DECISION ON THE HOSTING OF THE FOOTBALL
WORLD CUP 2010 IN AFRICA
The Assembly:
1.
WELCOMES the decision of FIFA to award the hosting of the 2010
Football World Cup to Africa thus recognizing that this is a momentous
occasion for the African Continent;
2.
RECOGNIZES the spirit of solidarity demonstrated by the contending
African countries to secure the hosing of the World Cup for the African
Continent;
3.
CONGRATULATES South Africa on its successful bid to host the World
Cup;
4.
MANDATES the Commission, in collaboration with CAF, to work with
FIFA and the host country to develop programmes to deliver a successful
World Cup.
