Assembly/AU/Dec.98 (VI) DECISION TO DECLARE 2006 AS THE YEAR OF AFRICAN LANGUAGES (Doc. EX.CL/223 (VIII)) The Assembly: 1. TAKES NOTE of the recommendation of the Executive Council; 2. DECLARES 2006 as the Year of African Languages; 3. REQUESTS the Commission, in collaboration with UNESCO and other relevant partners to coordinate activities related to the Year.
