Assembly/AU/2(XXIX) The Assembly, 1. WELCOMES H.E Paul Kagame’s Progress Report on the Implementation of the Decision on the Institutional Reform of the African Union; 2. TAKES NOTE of the progress made so far in taking forward the Institutional Reform Decision and URGES implementation in line with the timelines and benchmarks in the Progress Report; 3. COMMENDS the Chairperson of the African Union Commission for the steps taken to establish the Reform Implementation Unit in his Bureau and CALLS FOR the swift operationalization of the Unit; 4. REITERATES that the implementation process will incorporate proposals and suggestions made and accepted by Member States; 5. COMMENDS the work of President Paul Kagame, President Alpha Condé and President Idris Déby in supervising the implementation of the Institutional Reform process.
