Assembly/AU/Dec.32 (II) Page 1 DECISION ON THE 9 SEPTEMBER AS THE DAY OF AFRICAN UNION The Assembly, 1. TAKES NOTE of the proposal of the Leader of the Libyan Revolution Colonel Muamar Khaddafi to consider the 9th of September as the Day of the African Union instead of 2 March; 2. CONGRATULATES the Leader of the Libyan Revolution for his proposal; 3. APPROVES AND DECLARES the 9th September the Day of the African Union; 4. CALLS UPON all Member States to take all necessary measures to commemorate the Day of the African Union on 9th September of every year.
