AHG/Res. 61 (VII) SPECIAL MOTION The Assembly of Heads of State and Government of the Organization of African Unity, meeting in its Seventh Ordinary Session in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, from 1 to 3 September 1970, Having heard the address delivered by His Excellency U Thant, SecretaryGeneral of the United Nations, at its formal opening sitting, DECIDES to vote a special motion of thanks and gratitude to H.E.U Thant for his estimable efforts, his perfect understanding of the problems of the African continent and of the anxieties of its peoples and leaders, and for this outstanding contribution to the fulfillment of the similar aims of the United Nations and the Organization of African Unity, in the cause of African freedom and progress as well as international peace and security.
