Assembly/AU/Dec.178 (X) DECISION ON ECONOMIC INTEGRATION - DOC. EX.CL/378 (XII) The Assembly: 1. TAKES NOTE of the Report and Declaration of the Second Conference of African Ministers of Integration, held in Kigali, Rwanda from 26 to 27 July 2007; 2. ENDORSES the recommendations contained therein; 3. REQUESTS Member States, the Regional Economic Communities (RECs) and the AU Commission to take the necessary steps, in cooperation with the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA), the African Development Bank (AfDB) and development partners, to implement these recommendations with a view to speeding up the Continent’s integration process; 4. ALSO REQUESTS the AU Commission to submit at the next Ordinary Session of Council scheduled for July 2008, a report on the status of the Continent’s integration.
