Union • Accelerate Continental Initiatives to Local Production of ARVs and other essential drugs; • Accelerate Continental Initiative to Implement Pooled ARV Procurement approaches. • Ensure HIV/AIDS is kept high on Africa’s development agenda, and that Africa speaks with one voice at international fora. ACTIVITIES UNDERTAKEN BY AWA AWA Members: 8. The AWA Members (Heads of State and Government) undertook action as follows: - Breakfast Meetings during AU Assemblies Leadership with the HIV/AIDS response at the national level; Keep HIV/AIDS high on regional and continental development agendas; Convened a special video-conference with various stakeholders during the July 2003 AU Assembly, Maputo, Mozambique.
