Reiterates its request to the UN Security Council to provide an exemption to the arms embargo imposed on Somalia by Resolution 733(1992) of 23 January 1992 and in this respect, encourages IGAD, with the support of the AU, to engage the UN Security Council; 10. Appeals to the AU Member States and the larger international community to provide support and assistance to the war affected and long suffering people of Somalia; Council also urges them to extend their full support to the efforts aimed at forging peace and reconciliation in Somalia within the framework of the unity and sovereignty of this country. 11. Decides to remain actively seized of the matter.
