PSC/PR/COMM.3(CLXXVIII) Page 1 COMMUNIQUE OF THE 178th MEETING OF THE PEACE AND SECURITY COUNCIL The Peace and Security Council (PSC) of the African Union (AU), at its 178th meeting held on 13 March 2009, adopted the following decisions: Council: 1. Decides, in conformity with article 8(5) of the Protocol Relating to the Establishment of Peace and Security Council to establish a Committee on Sanctions; 2. Requests the Commission to submit to Council, within a duration of two (2) months from the date of the adoption of this decision, a study on the modalities for the functioning of this Committee; 3. Decides to remain to remain seized of the matter.
