Assembly/AU/Dec.455(XX) Page 1 DECISION ON THE PROTOCOL TO THE CONSTITUTIVE ACT OF THE AFRICAN UNION RELATING TO THE PAN-AFRICAN PARLIAMENT The Assembly, 1. TAKES NOTE of the recommendation of the Executive Council contained in its Decision EX.CL/Dec.707(XXI) on the Protocol to the Constitutive Act of the African Union Relating to the Pan-African Parliament; 2. DECIDES that more in-depth consultations should be undertaken on the Draft Protocol to the Constitutive Act of the African Union Relating to the Pan-African Parliament, in particular, with respect to its Articles 8.1(a) and 8.2 on legislative and oversight powers; 3. ALSO DECIDES to defer consideration of the draft Protocol to the Constitutive Act of the African Union Relating to the Pan-African Parliament to its next ordinary session in May 2013.
