Across the world, the number of people accessing ART has grown more than 7 times in 4 years. The bulk of this increase comes from sub-Saharan Africa, where almost 2.1 million people were receiving ART by the end of 2007. This represents a 60% increase in just one year—as 2006 saw about 1.3 million on ART.
